A Small Party

On January 31st, I threw a small party for some good friends of mine. I wanted to do an outdoor party but the one thing that worried me was the weather. I checked the weather forecast and I saw this one devastating word – THUNDERSTORMS! To ensure that nobody would get wet, I built 4 canopies around my house for drop-offs and prepared lots of umbrellas and raincoats. Then the day came. Surprisingly, it was  sunny and the sky looked amazingly blue in the morning. I said “Surely, it won’t last!” But it did! In fact, the weather was so perfect all day that it set the perfect condition for the perfect party. We had a great time catching up with old friends and making new acquaintances. In fact, we had so much fun and there was so much to talk about that although the party was meant to end by 11pm, some of my guests stayed on and left only as ‘early’ as 3am. The Joyous Wedding of Ganesh & Shamila

The beautiful bride, Shamila, and the handsome bridegroom, Ganesh My wife and I were recently invited to witness the matrimony of a beautiful couple – Ganesh and Shamila. Shamila’s father is a good friend of mine, Dato AK Nathan. Let me tell you a bit about Dato AK Nathan even though I am sure you are already quite familiar with the background of this Malaysian tycoon. Dato AK Nathan is the founder of Eversendai – a world class construction company that undertakes the construction of the steel structures of many of the world’s tallest buildings; some of h is signature projects include KLCC, KL Tower, The Burj in Dubai, Trump Tower in Mumbai and many more. According to Forbes 2012, he was ranked as the 27th richest Malaysian with a net worth of USD300m. Dato AK Nathan is also the Honorary Advisor of the Branding Association of Malaysia. There was a pre-wedding party, the Sangeet Night, hosted in Dato AK Nathan’s mansion two nights before the actual wedding function. He invited a
